These are watercolor sketches painted “directly”, which means no pencil sketch beforehand. They are terrifying to do at first, but they teach you to “see” and be bold and fresh.

Sketching at The Art Institute of Chicago

I received a membership to the museum for Christmas and have decided to sketch as many paintings as I can, using only 10 children’s color pencils (they only allow pencils).
